Butter Nut Horns ..... Day Four of Twelve Days of Christmas Cookies.

Butter Nut Horns
Our friend Barb who is another Lake-buddy shares a recipe that she and her husband George enjoy as a holiday treat. Barb said she found the recipe many years ago in a newspaper. I also have some of those recipes that have become family favorites. Thank you Barb for sharing.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 sticks margarine or butter
3/4 cup sour cream
1 egg yolk
***
Filling:
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
***
Directions:
Place the flour in a large bowl, cut in margarine or butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir together the sour cream and egg yolk; make a well in the flour crumb mixture and add the sour cream mixture and mix to a dough. Cut the dough into three pieces and wrap. Chill for five hours or overnight. Roll each piece into a circle and cut into twelve or sixteen pieces. Sprinkle with the nut mixture and roll from the wide end. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 until golden brown. Barb says this recipe makes a large amount of cookies.
