Happy Birthday Barbara!
It is official! Today is Barbara's 42nd birthday. Barbara is often called our Barbie Doll. There is a little history to Barbara's name. When we told the children that we would be having another baby, we asked if they wanted a sister or brother. Her two sister's reply was we just want a "Barbie Doll" which was the doll of choice of the mid '60's. Barbara was born at 6:36 p.m. on a Friday. When her dad arrived back home from the hospital to tell her sisters and brother they had a new sister, they clamored name her Barbie, name her Barbie. Don returned to the hospital asking if I cared if her name would be Barbara as the girls would be disappointed if she wasn't named Barbara. Her two older sisters have always shopped to buy her clothes just as the routine with the dolls. Saturday with sister Anne in San Francisco to celebrate the birthday, they went shopping for clothes! Just like days past with the real "Barbara Doll"!
