The estate of J.P. Getty

The above photo is the home formerly occupied by J.P. Getty and his five sons. When his home became overcrowded with his art collection J.P. began to build the Getty Villa Museum. J.P. never lived in the Villa Museum. He was living in London at the time of the actual construction. J.P. flew the architect and builders to London when a conference of the building was necessary.
