Everyday Useful Tips

Everyday Useful Tips
I received an email from our daughter Mary with tips that I thought were worth passing along. One which I experienced this week was with the seperated bananas. Here are ten worthwhile tips.
***
1,) Bananas will ripen slower if they are separated rather than left as a bunch.
2.) Peel your banana from the bottom and you will not have to remove those stringy parts left by the peel.
3.) To rid gnats from your picnic table, place 1/2 cup of apple cider in a cup with two drops of dish detergent. Gone forever!
4.) To keep mosquitoes away, place a dryer sheet in your pocket or pin to your shirt.
5.) To prevent static cling when wearing hose, place a small safety pin to your underslip or the hem of your slacks.
6.) When measuring sticky ingredients like peanut butter, rinse your measuring cup with water first. The ingredients slide out.
7.) Add a paper towel roll to you vacuum sweeper attachment when needing to get into narrow spaces. It can be flattened to reach into the area.
8.) Bell peppers with three bumps on the bottom are sweeter for eating but peppers with 4 bumps will remain firmer when cooked.
9.) Wrap chunk cheese in aluminum foil to prevent mold forming in the refrigerator.
10.) When frying ground beef, add a teaspoon of water. It help to pull the fat from the beef.
