. Pickled Eggs

Dill Pickled Eggs

Pickled Beet Flavored Eggs

I was intrigued by a post on Facebook. I sent a text to Rachel Dondero asking permission to publish her story on Dine With Donna. Her lucky Grandfather was being remembered Fathers Day by her with the above pictured gift of two jars of Pickled Eggs. The brine has a basic formula. There can be many additions for flavor. Choices are guided by your palate.

As you can see, the sky’s the limit when it comes to a pickled egg brine, but if you’re looking for a basic starter brine for pickled eggs, try this:

Basic Brine:

9-10 hard-boiled eggs (for 1-quart wide-mouth jar)
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
2 Tbsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Sugar
A few teaspoons of spices (your choice)

https://practicalselfreliance.com/pickled-eggs/ is the site that Rachel used and adapted her brine.  Thank you Rachel, you were very gracious!
