How To Blanche Almonds
Blanching almonds removes the bitterness from the skin and gives a sweet taste of the nut. It is a very simple but easy process.
Directions:
Bring a large pan of water to a boil.
Set a timer for ONE minute and place the almonds in the boiling water.
Time up! Use a scoop to remove the nuts. Don't boil the nut, only the skin.
Place on a towel to drain.
Pinch the skin from the rounded end of the nut. Discard the skins.
Allow the almonds to air dry. When thoroughly place in an air tight container. Almonds will mold if not thoroughly dry before placing in jar.
