Chicken Fricassee or German Huhnerfrikassee

Chicken Fricassee

Creamy, comforting, and filled with tender chicken and vegetables—this German fricassee is a cozy classic.  A recipe from Germany!

Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
½ cup cream
½ cup peas
½ cup diced carrots
Salt, pepper,  
Lemon juice

Directions:
Melt butter in a saucepan, mix in flour to make a roux.

Gradually whisk in broth, then the cream.

Add vegetables and simmer 10 minutes.

Stir in chicken and heat through.

Season with salt & pepper and a splash of lemon juice.
